OK, I’m interested in this because I have GOT to know more about the 8th’s time and what happened for him to have Time-Locked his entire race.

On Saturday at Megacon I cosplayed all eleven Doctors

It took about four months to make and plan everything and about 12.5 hours to execute (9am to 10:30pm allowing an hour for lunch)

I think this might be why, of all the new series’ companions, I don’t like Martha Jones.

Rose, Donna and Amy didn’t want to leave ‘My Doctor’, ‘Raggedy Man’ or ‘Spaceboy’, but they didn’t have a choice.

Martha Jones just walked away.

Martha’s family had just gone through a year of hell.  A year of being TORTURED, a year where they were threatened with DEATH every day, a year where they saw horrors unimaginable.  They needed her. 

Martha herself just went through a year of hell.  A year where she was hunted every day.  A year where there was a special forces unit tasked with doing nothing but tracking her down.  A year where she saw an entire country burn in front of her eyes.  A year where she witnessed more death and destruction than any one person should ever have to.  A year where she saved the universe not with magic TARDIS/Metacrisis/Universe crack powers but with her own brains, cunning, determination and willpower.  She needed her family.

She had also just spent a year in love with a man who didn’t love her back.  A man who was often dismissive of her thoughts and feelings.  A man who she had to watch fall in love with another woman and accuse her of being his executioner after two months of going from being a doctor to a maid in an era when she was thought of as less than a person because of the color of her skin.  Then three more month of working in a shop to support him.  Her thanks for those things was “thank you” and a hug.  She went through a year where she TIME AND AGAIN proved herself, delivered the impossible and yet was judged unworthy just because she wasn’t someone she’d never met.  And THEN the year of literal hell. 

Put yourself in her shoes for just a minute.

She made absolutely the right decision, for her own mental and emotional well being, and for her family’s.  She still cared for him, she gave him a lifeline back to her, but she couldn’t survive in that environment anymore, having her self esteem torn down every day after she had proved over and over just how amazing she was.

Aaaaaaand raising a glass to Martha Jones.  Bring it, haters.  (And seriously, I am still trying to come up with canon in my head for a non-gross reason she and Mickey ended up together.  I have done my Very Best.  I try to believe it is because he understood being world-savingly awesome while always having to play second fiddle for bullshit reasons.  Being brown on the TARDIS sucks.  Seriously, Rita, you got saved a lot of trouble, getting et by a lonely feelings minotaur.)

This is a fandom where someone who “loved” Martha wrote a story where she chose to stay a maid in the past & gave up her family, career, & any chance of love  so that the Doctor could keep being human and marry that racist ass white woman. The Martha hate is really about her refusal to be Mammy so y’all can stop searching for logic.

Pretty much. The Martha hate is basically cuz she’s an uppity nigger bitch who wouldn’t accept her “naturally” inferior, nigger bitch place.

Reblogging for this commentary but also because Martha Jones is easily one of the best companions, ever, who didn’t settle for being some second choice and who had intergrity and strength to walk away from a relationship to be with her family.

And also because most of the hate thrown her way was because she was a woman of colour who didn’t put up with shit.

The more I see of these gifs, the more I realize just how underrated a Doctor 9 was in comparson to 10 or 11, or even some of the classics.

Christopher Eccliston’s acting is phenomenal here, so very subtle and oh so perfect.

Wow. I’m sure you’ve all seen this girl’s fantastic tardis dress floating around here the last week or so. She hand painted the inside and everything, and she just looks plain great. But of course, I see it posted on facebook, and the slew of comments begin.

I don’t think it’s a mystery as to why I, as a bigger girl, spend the week before a convention crying because I’m so nervous about what people are going to say about me just because I want to dress up and have fun like everyone else. And there is something really, really fucking wrong with that.

This girl is as beautiful as she is clever! If we on Tumblr are only good for one thing, it’s turning situations like this around! Let’s signal boost this and get it back to her so she knows how much we love it! ALLONZ-Y

Let’s talk about how douchebags like this perpetuate fat-shaming culture and how they are exactly the kinds of twits who say shit like “fat and beauty are mutually exclusive!!!!” while also being the same sexist dickheads who would be like “oh she’s sexy in in a tardis dress???? she’s not a REAL nerd!!!! she’s just a whore who wants attention!!!!”

How well do Doctor Who’s Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman know each other? Exceptionally well, if our afternoon of Christmas shopping is the true indicator. We took the pair to Manhattan’s ornament-bonanza store It’s Always Christmas in the City and set them off to pick out hyper-specific “bits and bobs” that fit their co-star’s personality. Even though they haven’t been working together very long — Coleman is officially the Doctor’s new companion beginning with the show’s Christmas special, airing Dec. 25 on BBC America — they succeeded in surprising each other with some very thoughtful (and strange) choices.

Okay, this is pretty cute…
